Awesome smoker for the money.
Purchased this smoker 6 months ago. It's the first smoker ive owned. Book off an evening to assemble the unit, but it's a fairly straight forward process. I've done 4 batches now of smoked salmon & trout, and it does a great job. It does smoke a little hotter then most of those electric ones, (little/big chief....) but I just replace chips a little more frequently and take some time off the proces...
Decent Smoker; Decent Value
I bought this a month ago and here is what I have to say: 1. Assembly: takes about an hour and is not difficult. However, the base comes in four parts. A single base would be better. The hinges are really two pins per door which will make them easy to lose. There are no extra pins in the box. The screw/bolt holes do not always line up and some elbow grease is needed. Castors are weak and I do not...

Great Unit & Easy to Use
Been using this since September for pork, chicken, turkey, etc. and I love it. Temp control can be a bit of a learning curve (how much does the heat drop for how long when adding water, meat, wet wood) especially going from 80°+ temps to smoking at 10°, but paying attention and making adjustments goes a long way. Everything has come out smoky and juicy. Would recommend.

Tweaked it a bit
I have smoked sausages, salmon, cod, oysters, mussels, squash and chicken so far. It could use a different burner control as it is difficult to achieve cooler temperatures. I will eventually dummy in a small burner to maintain 100F or so. It was much hotter at the back so I notched the back of the water-pan where it touches the standoffs and bent the tabs up. Uniform heat now. The rack slides will get a screw to hold them in place as they are easily dislodged when swapping hot racks held off-level. Lighting a smolder fire in the wood-tray gives a good smoke once the unit is warm/hot and drawing. All in all a very well built and functional unit

Smoke!!
Been wondering about this cooking method for some time and finally, due to an in-store promotion, took the plunge. Initial observations, it was well built and well supported. So far, it's been a wonderful learning experience, basically developing a new set of unique cooking skills with tasty results. Never has the cliche "try it, you'll like it" been so true..

not good for smoking
only used it twice and the unit temp does not stay below 350 deg F no matter what

Overpriced useless smoker
From the start this smoker could not keep temperature below 325 deg F, the moment the burner is ignited in just 20 Minutes, after it keeps gradually climbing and the only way to lower the inside temp is to either open the unit door or just turn it of

Doesn’t keep low temperature
Well built easy to put together but doesn’t keep a low temperature only does 250 and above really disappointed

Great smoker! You
I’ve had this smoker since 2015 and love it! It was easy to assemble and operate. It makes smoking easy, and does an excellent job with anything we’ve tried. And I’ve had a lot of fun trying different recipes. Great way to spend a summer day…low and slow!

Quality tools = quality results
With the help of this smoker, I have become a local legend with meats, cheeses. Seem to have a request weekly to fire up my Broil King.

Great Smoker Cheap Accessories
The smoker works extremely well and the meat comes out exactly the way I want every time. The door seals extremely will to make sure the smoke only escapes the vents on the side. The wood and water trays are very large which allows you to add more wood easily and you rarely have to add water unless it is a very long smoke. The reason I gave a poor rating is three of the five grills have broke in less than a year of ownership. The deep roast tray had the welds break with only a six pound brisket in it. The thermometer on the door is very inaccurate and has started to fog to the point where it is almost unreadable.

Numerous flaws
I bought this one year ago, I purchases a Broil King as i have a BBQ which I love but the smoker has disappointed. Firstly the temperature gauge is garbage and doesn`t work. The slot system to adjust the racks is horrible, the slot rails easily fall out, it is a horrible design.

Sturdy
Bought this on Boxing Day and after assembly we got right to it. Easy to use. We live in a colder climate and unfortunately the temperature gauge doesn’t register any heat at all. So our first attempt at smoking we kept it on high heat and still it said 150 degrees (but it wasn’t, the meats were way overdone. Checked the calibration and it’s fine. Just smoked again yesterday and still the gauge doesn’t move at all. It’ll all be guesswork unfortunately.
